Michael Matvieshen, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Matvieshen is the Chairman, CEO, and President of Sunlogics. Prior to Sunlogics he was the founder, President and CEO of EPOD Solar, a solar energy company (predecessor of Sunlogics) which built solar parks in Germany. Previously he was President of Wolverine Resources Inc., an oil upgrading. Mr. Matvieshen has also served as VP of Gen5 Tech Corp. in which he managed the construction, capital budgeting and start-up of an oil upgrading plant in Alberta. He has been in the technology development business for the past 15 years, primarily as an entrepreneur and inventor.He has also been involved in land development and commercial build construction as an investor/owner for the past 23 years building over 40 million dollars in projects.

Satpal Sidhu, Chief Operating Officer, Director

Prior to joining Sunlogics, Mr. Sidhu was the Dean of Professional Technical Education at Bellingham Technical College. Prior to serving in that position, Mr. Sidhu held senior managerial and vice president positions in several manufacturing-related businesses. He has over 30 years of professional experience in management of complex industrial operations, construction projects and enterprise management. In 2005, Mr. Sidhu was designated a Fulbright Scholar, and received a research grant under the Fulbright program. He is a licensed engineer and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s of Business Administration. Over the past 2 years, Mr. Sidhu has managed the development and construction of several ground and rooftop solar projects ranging in size from 1MW to 10MW

Doo Young Yang (DY), Chief Technology Officer

Dy was the Executive Vice President and CTO at Jusung, a solar cell, LCD and a Semiconductor equipment company where he achieved the know-how about fabricating solar modules to produce the highest output power and how to make the module at the most cost effective manner utilizing Korean, Japanese, Chinese and North American resources. He has 11 years experience in LCD and solar cell processing and hardware development as well as R&D and manufacturing for Jusung Engineering, the largest equipment company in thin film solar cell in Korea. DY has a Ph.D and is a leading developer in the area of Czochralski-grown silicon semiconductor material which is the core technology of silicon semiconductors and silicon solar cells. He was involved in setting up a thin film solar panel manufacturing company in Korea a thin film solar cell company in China from which he acquired the hands-on knowledge of how to produce the solar cell most effectively utilizing the developed resources of Korea, Japan, China, Germany and the USA. Dy was a team leader at the R&D division of LG Semicon Company.

Jack DeLiddo, Vice President Industrial Installations, Director

Jack DeLiddo is a pioneer in the solar community. He is the founder of Rooftop Energy, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunlogics, that specializes in roof mounted photovoltaic systems operated on large commercial spaces. Mr. DeLiddo has successfully marketed an exclusive lease program that combines patented roofing protection and renewable energy generation; a unique combination that provides worry-free building envelope protection. Mr. DeLiddo has cultivated a relationship with GM through his former company DEERS. DEERS developed in cooperation with GM the Velcro® attachment system for applying solar PV panels to large commercial roof surfaces. Rooftop Energy completed the world’s largest rooftop solar photovoltaic power installation to GM’s car assembly plant located in Figueruelas, Zaragoza, Spain. The Zaragoza installation covers about 2 million sq. feet of roof at the plant with about 85,000 solar panels. The Zaragoza installation can generate about 12 megawatt (mw) of power. Rooftop Energy and General Motors together are developing GM’s world-wide “Solar Renewable Energy Initiative”. Rooftop Energy has been contracted and commissioned to develop and build solar projects for all qualifying GM facilities in the US, Canada, Mexico and Germany.

John A. Gorman, Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Director of Ontario Operations

John Gorman founded PACE a Consulting firm focused on interests of the public and private sectors on matters pertaining to municipal infrastructure. He provides strategic counsel to valued clients on policy and procurement matters relating to energy, water and transportation. He has spent that last 8 years advising leading corporations on procurement and policy matters in the Ontario infrastructure market. John’s expertise in the Ontario renewable energies sector began in 2000 with his appointment to the Board of Hydro Ottawa Holdings (2000 – 2003). More recently, he played a key role in the development of Ontario’s Integrate Power Systems Plan (IPSP), and later the Feed-in-Tariff Program (FIT Program), through his work with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). John’s corporate clients in this sector include some of the most recognized energy companies from Canada and abroad, including: Duke Energy, Abengoa, URS, ATCO and EPCOR (Capital Power). He is also active with several corporate organizations, he is a Board Member for Hydro Ottawa and Member of the Advisory Board for Telecom Ottawa and Energy Ottawa. John is also active on the political front, having been involved in several leadership and election campaigns at all three levels of government.

Jasvinder Singh Obhi, Chief Strategy Officer

Dr. Obhi is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of combined R&D and senior management experience, his contributions have had a high impact in a variety of industries, including the telecommunications, biometric-based security, and sustainable development sectors. Dr. Obhi formerly held the positions of CEO for BlueBear Networks, Inc. and CTO at IMC Security, Inc. In 2004, Jasvinder formed Strategian Inc., primarily focused in the sustainable technology sector. Before joining Sunlogics, he was also Vice President of Project Development at Plasco Energy Group. As a Chartered Physicist with the Institute of Physics and member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Dr. Obhi holds a PhD in Physics from University of London, UK and has over 50 publications along with several patents in the telecom sector.

Dr. Franklin Santagate, Director of Marketing

Franklin attended the Indiana University / Purdue University campus for three years before transferring to be an invited guest instructor for his senior year at the Louisville School of Art where he graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Visual Communication. By the time Franklin graduated, he had competed nationally receiving recognition in a number of cities including New York, Chicago, and Dallas. He built a leading corporate consulting firm of twenty-four leading professionals where his solutions for business were recognized globally in the cities of Zurich, Cologne, and Tokyo. Subsequently, he was selected on two occasions by the President Ronald Reagan administration as one of the leading 100 marketing professionals in America to create message art for a world /major city traveling exhibits. He is recognized as a professional pro-active strategist who can rapidly identify business opportunities, formulate strategic plans, and implement processes in challenging and diverse environments. His consultancy work found him serving Mercedes Benz, Renault, General Electric, International Telephone and Telegraph (ITT), Navistar, Cummins Diesel, United Airlines, Aetna, Bankers Trust of New York, Humana, Christian Men’s Network, Billy Graham Ministries and many others. He and his family reside in Modesto, California.

Franzi Tschurtschenthaler, Engineering Manager

Mr. Tschurtschenthaler is the manager of engineering and R&D for Sunlogics. He has been the technical lead on numerous projects including solar park construction, solar technology research and inverter development. Previously he worked as a researcher at the UBC molecular mechatronics lab under an NSERC research grant. He is currently in the process of applying for his P.Eng designation. Mr. Tschurtschenthaler holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Integrated Engineering from UBC and was the recipient of the APEGBC Achievement Award for showing the greatest promise in his graduating class. Mr. Tschurtschenthaler has been an integral part of the design, engineering and construction of several ground and rooftop solar installations of 1MW to 10MW projects.

Cameron Reeves, Solar Farm Installation Manager

Prior to joining Sunlogics Mr. Reeves was a field engineer at Iggesund Tools, a 300 year old tooling company supplying the forest products industry. Prior to this role Mr. Reeves has been in a number of technical positions for a variety of industries ranging from automotive emission control & fuel alternatives to precisions opto-mechanics to ground water sampling technologies. Mr. Reeves holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is in the process of applying for his P.Eng designation. Mr. Reeves has been the chief engineer and consultant on several ground and rooftop solar installations of up to 10MW.

Robert Lacey, Manager, Greenfield Project

Mr. Lacey brings with him a wealth of knowledge in sales, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Prior to this role he spent 3 years in commercial and contractor equipment sales with Agro Equipment in Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Lacey has also gained experience in commerce through starting and operating a highly profitable small venture that was sold in 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of British Columbia Okanagan with a major in Marketing and a minor in International Business.

Sass Peress, Vice President, Consumer Goods, Director

Mr. Peress began his history in the solar industry in 1988, founding ICP Solar. In 1994, his automotive background permitted him to launch the first successful range of solar chargers for automobiles and recreational vehicles in partnership with major retailers worldwide. In 1996, he was amongst the first in the solar industry to use the internet to promote a range of solar powered solutions for everyday living. With his scientific background and manufacturing experience, his involvement at Sunlogics will include the develoment of an intellectual property strategy for off-grid and grid-tie solar charging products. His understanding of global community engagement through the internet, together with how renewable energy can be used to truly drive disruptive lifestyle changes for our planet will be key in his assuming the duties of VP Consumer Products at Sunlogics. Mr. Peress graduated with Honors from Concordia University’s MBA International Business Program in Montreal, Canada.

Mr. Matvieshen has extensive experience in the industrial water and oil treatment industries in making fuels for diesel generators and in making base oils for drilling and floating potash. He has been in the technology development business for the past 15 years, primarily as an entrepreneur and inventor. He has also been involved in land development and commercial build construction as an investor/owner for the past 23 years.

Larry Faulk, Director

Mr. Faulk served as a Washington State Senator from 1966 to 1970. Before retiring in 1995, he also worked several years as a marketing executive for Boeing. The former senator has headed a number of nonprofit and governmental agencies over the years, including the Martin Luther King Center in Tacoma, WA and the Washington State Pollution Board. Mr. Faulk holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Seattle University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Evergreen State College. He is also a graduate of the Senior Executive Program for State and Local Government Officials at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.


Mark Roseborough, Director

Mr. Roseborough has been with Sunlogics and its acquired companies since 1997, serving as a board member and previously Vice President. Prior to 2003, he also has served as VP of Marketing at Belkorp Industries, Inc., where he held direct responsibility for the operations of three paper mills and an oil refinery. These operations had approximately 350 employees and $300 million in revenues. From 1999 to 2003, he served as President and CEO of Bluewater Fiber, a large pulp recycling mill in Port Huron, Michigan. Mr. Roseborough is also a commercial pilot.

Charles L. Bryant Jr., Director

After graduating with honors from California State University, Stanislaus in 1977, Chuck founded CL Bryant, Inc., wholesale petroleum distributors. With a team of 6 employees, they had sales of more than $4 million in the first year. Over the next 25 years, CL Bryant established itself as one of the top-producing petroleum distributors in the country, buying out many competitors and building branch operations throughout Central California. It became the number one seller of Unocal 76 lubricants in the United States and the nation’s top seller of Union 76 NASCAR racing gasoline which was marketed and delivered over 7 western states. CL Bryant received numerous awards for fast growth and top sales. By 2006, Chuck had grown the business to 150 employees and over $250 million in sales. He sold the business in May of 2006 to pursue other interests. He is currently involved in multiple business start-ups, helping others fulfill their dreams of impacting their world. He has served since October 2005 as Executive Director of the Pinnacle Forum, Modesto.
