#34456 RE: lobcrab #34452

lobcrab........as a retired project/manufacturing manager of a major electronics subcontract house in this country, and therefore as one who was not so far removed from the action as you were while sitting behind your desk in your ivory tower, I can tell you with certainty that the only thing I3 is prepared to manufacture is nothing but a few prototypes, if that. It will be months before they find, qualify and contract vendors; design and procure necessary tools and fixtures; hire department heads who in turn will have to hire and train assembly, QC, purchasing and support personnel and test technitians; write QC, assembly and test procedures; procure a parts and materials inventory; and set up production lines, and burn-in and test stations. And, the fact that this is a radiation emitting product makes the aforementioned all the more complicated.

I agree with Sano: Dean's only recourse, if he wants to see working product within six to nine months earliest, is to sell to or partner with someone who already has much of this vital infrastructure in place.
