Whether the Smith/Jones comment was racism, nationalism or continentalism does not matter. It was inappropriate and it was a sorry-ass excuse meant to deflect all criticism. Smith and Jones can be just as incompetent as Odobulu and Ntephe. Equally as disturbing was the fact that I was also told that the directors could not push everything else aside and respond to a group that only owns 40 million shares. At that point I was told it could be 3 months since the BOD only meets quarterly. I have to go back and look at the exact dates but I believe it has now been well over 3 months.
I would really like to know if the Board ever received the letter or if management just threw the letter away. The letter was sent to both Dan Keeney and to the company Secretary at the company headquarters address. Both letters were sent return receipt requested and I have the receipts for both so they did get the letters. This was the exact procedure spelled out in the proxy statement for corresponding with the BOD. I still have received no response.
I am now of the opinion that the letter never was even seen by the BOD. I think management trashed it because it was critical of them and they did not want the BOD to even see it. To think that the BOD would just ignore a letter like that is beyond belief but for some reason I would not put it past the management to have never bothered to present it to the BOD. The saddest part is that this company is set up in such a way that it is virtually impossible to determine what really happened.
If the BOD did not wish to respond all they had to do was send a letter saying they could not respond to individual shareholders questions. Even that common courtesy was not done.
