Can someone tell me - on the L2 shot you have the following:

The left side shows

Number of Shares, MPID (MM name), and the Bid price

The right side shows

Number of shares, MPID (MM name), and the Ask price

According to the L2, does this mean that MM's are stating they will Sell the stock at the Bid and will buy at the ask? If so, why would the MM's want to buy higher than what they are selling for?
