Deregulated energy companies are the legacy of the late 90's. My brother worked for ConEd on the distribution side and had a lovely job as part of team dealing with diaster situations like terrorist attacks on NYC. He would tell me about guys like bin Ladem whoplanned mayhem on NYC and what situations they would prepare for in the command center in the WTC complex. He said that the ulitimate eventuality of a 9/11 like situation made him lose sleep at night and he eventually had to leave ConEd. However, he was not willing to join his buddies on the power production side of ConEd and sell out to the highest bidder taking an job offer from one of the upstart deregulated energy firms like Aguila. He took job with local enviromental consulting firm and gets to do outside consulting workfor conED missed out on having to run for his life on 9/11.
