#902 RE: Tatari Gami #901

I'm going to have to go through and finish reading it later. I've been through 2 screens of it and want to reach through my monitor and bit-slap "Blue01GT".

I drive the ever-living piss outta my Mustang. I mean flog it within milimeters of its life, and do it very, very often. However, I do *not* do that on public roads.

I'm noticing that the person who started that thread shows "Ex-Ford Mechanic" right below their name. Does that mean what I think it means?

No, don't tell me. I want to finish reading that thread later and see if he got busted for that original post.

Oh, BTW, I do have others work on my car from time to time if it's either something I can't do (like welding) or something I don't want to do (changing rear-end gearing) and while I get a kick out of seeing them put their foot into it a bit or even really goosing it, I do believe that if I found that someone had either really abused the car or had put it at risk (like doing 140 on public roads), I'd go nutso on them in short order.

Edit: Something I haven't seen mentioned in that thread yet is the possibility that the owner would feel the value of the car had been greatly diminished by that kind of treatment during break-in. I know that's how I'd feel. I'm very uptight about how I break a car in and break-in is a big reason I'm willing to take the depreciation beating and buy new.
