Actually owing your employees back pay is a crime and in a court of law if a suit is filed they can even come after your personal property. But humorous none the less to even make such a statement, because most state laws have specific sections about terminating employment as soon as you know you cannot pay them. If it is found that you knew you could not pay and even asked them stay around, depending on the state it can result in fines.
