I owned an OTCBB Oil and Gas Exploration stock about 12 years ago that did a reverse split and symbol change so it could move up to the AMEX at $4.00 per share. The screaming and panic was unbelievable, and gleefully driven by posters who wanted to get the share price as low as they could so they could buy in either just before or right after the reverse split happened. The stock opened at $4.00 per share on the AMEX and within a year was trading at a high of $23.00 per share.
