08:26 ET Advanced Micro cuts chip prices - Digitimes (AMD) 5.95: Digitimes.com reports that AMD, in response to INTC's lowering of Celeron processor prices the day before, cut the prices of its low-end and medium-range Athlon XP processors yesterday.
With AMD currently Positioning lower end AthlonXP against Celerons, and higher range Athlons in short supply, and ClawHammers nowhere in site, it seems to me that AMD has a hole in their product line vs. P4 that's big enough to drive a Truck through. With good supplies of intel's 3.06GHz about to hit the streets in a few days, it doesn't seem like it's going to be a very Merry Christmas for Jerry and Hector at all.
