Thanks CM.

I'm disappointed (understatement) that another chance was blown by Solterra to introduce their technology. There's not even a presentation available from KyuSung Lee. (do we actually know he went there?)

So I went back into stealth mode with Solterra...

On a positive side...
I think a new Quantum Materials Corporation website launch could coincide with the Solterra IPO, in 2 months from now, according to your message from Dr. Bob...

So we wait...

And while waiting, here's a company doing well in the display and lighting section...

Quantum Dot Displays Start to Shine

More Colorful Displays with Quantum Dots

Quantum optics

PS;
I should be happy about the latest move back above the 10 cent range, but actually, it's still pathetic with our potential...
I know that as a QTMM board moderator I should be more positive, but I'm a board moderator, and I'll try to stay impartial...

MUSCAT: The two day INCONET-GCC round table workshop concluded yesterday on a high note with the invited experts and speakers sharing the relevance and benefits of best practice in science, technology and innovation policy.

The event was hosted by the Research Council of Oman on Monday and Tuesday. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for the participants to engage in constructive dialogue on best practices in research and innovation policies.

The INCONET-GCC, which started early 2010 and will run to end of 2011, is a collaborative project between the European Union and the GCC countries.

Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, undersecretary, Ministry of Higher Education, presided over the opening of the workshop.

Speaking to Times of Oman, Dr Hilal Al Hinai, secretary-general, Research Council said, “The objective of the workshop was to create a roadmap for establishing a fruitful collaboration by looking at the capabilities of both the GCC and EU to find effective mechanisms in institutions in both regions.”

He explained that the focus was also to try and find priority areas for research collaborations. “We know that GCC countries are trying to put a lot of effort on science and technology. So it was important that we look at the best practice in science and technology policies and learn from them,” Hinai added.

The secretary-general of the Research Council also added that though there are research collaborations under the bilateral umbrella it was important to look for a way where institutions within the GCC become partners at the EU level.

“We want to try and enter into collaborations with groups that are formed at the EU level. There are certain procedures that are normally followed. We would like to see GCC countries participate in these collaborations,” he said.

On the first day Hilal Al Hinai, in his welcome address stressed that the conference aims result in a number of concrete conclusions on strengths and weaknesses in the GCC-countries in this area, and help provide concrete guidance of measures to be taken through international collaboration, including joint research and innovation activities between the GCC and European Union countries, to improve the performance of research in support of favourable societal outcomes for the long term.

Stavroula Maglavera from Euro-consultants, Prof Cristina Flesia from the University of Ferrara from Italy, Jassim Sheikh from Jonkoping International Business representative: European Commission made the opening remarks.

Besides discussing science and technology policy, they also discussed the relationship between S&T, research and development, innovation, enterprise and industry development and entrepreneurship.

Draw your own conclusions, however I think I can understand why QTMM may delay filing as long as possible. That said, I think things are speeding up.
