I couldn't agree more jshook,
I've been in business for 30+ years, delivered good news and bad to employees and shareholders alike. I can assure you that I/we never delivered bad news, and then brought the "gang" in for a nice reception and drinks...what we would call a little fellowship...no way!!!!
Subsequently, when the news is positive, ie sales, earnings, new business contracts, bonuses, raises, etc.....throw the party, let everyone enjoy!!!!
Why would Eric and Fred, hold the meeting, allow a question and answer period, handle business, and then invite us back to the office for a reception......cause there is reason to celebrate!
This of course is just my opinion, and yes I am speculating, but I agree with you 100%, it just wouldn't make sense any other way!!!!
