Theoretically, you could write your own algorithms. In real life, good luck to you. Yes, I do think they have advantages retail investors don't have. We can't do flash trading, for example, and I'm not sure anyone should be allowed to do it.
But all that isn't anything new. The pros have always had an edge.
And none of it has anything to do with penny stocks.
