Do you have any thoughts on the talk of the option activity. I read the article today on seekingalpha. I understand options well from a micro perspective but haven't paid attention to the what option activity from a macro perspective can tell about expectations for an event or stock. I didn't quite understand why the call activity in the jan 4s and feb 4s was bullish. Im not selling covered calls with ARIAD because I don't want to miss out on the upside but I'll often sell covered calls in stocks I like but don't think will move in the near term. The author seemed to think the option activity indicated someone was betting data would be out in early january. I can understand that, but doesn't it also mean that someone thinks it won't be out in early january. Or if it did come out it would be negative news. What was your take on the call activity?

BTH - If a formal bid for Ariad comes from any source at $15, it would only serve to put Ariad in play at this time. The offer would not be accepted.

All of a sudden there would be a great deal of calculating going on that would surely move the pps and offers into at least the 20's.
