Poptech: I beg to differ (imagine that loL!) as the evidence overwhelmingly points to the fact that it's quite opposite as you portray.

The US (USPTO) is in fact NOT VERY CAREFUL when it comes to issuing ONE patent per invention. Otherwise, why all the re-exams and challenges quite often to their original grants?

This latest series of events w/ the '048 patent illustrates this perfectly.

Hmmm...wondering those who requested the review will find the (clear throat) "reasonable examiner" they are so desperately looking for.
