I don't own a business currently but I have owned several small businesses in the past.
I think Ben has done a great job of sorting out most of the mess Dru left behind. Which was substantial. But I think this company needs a more seasoned executive to get to the next level. Ben has plateaued in my opinion and needs help.
My company was Factory Digital Studios. I had an employee conspire to steal about 50% of my equipment . This was a very bad blow because my insurance did not cover employee inspired crime.
Our company was selected by a major brand Soda co. to lead their campaign for animation for the Olympics in China. I made the decision to invest most of our resources into this agreement. Very lucrative opportunity in August of 2001. Needless to say 9/11 wiped out that agreement instantly.
These two unfortunate events coupled with my decision to invest heavily into one project eventually led to our demise. Not complaining, just reflecting. It was my small jobs that kept our company going and the hope od that one big one that ended it.
I owned a few businesses, started my first at 21 and that failed. My last one I started September 2008 just as the market and economy started to nose dive, this one is still going! I will add however, it has taking a huge toll on me personally and financially.
If the Capital Division comes and flounders then thats it IMO... start looking for the PR about making phone apps....
