lids: IMO the recent volume spikes are likely due to tax loss selling, as this is the prime period for those who want to book a tax loss before the heavy tax loss selling in December, and still have time to buy back in before end of year while the stock is down from tax loss selling, without having a problem with the 30-day wash sale rule.
