#3456 RE: phillyfury #3455

Here's another article I found over the weekend. Hopefully members of this board can get a rough idea on how the stone is adopted by Chinese in the current jade mareket. The link of the originl context written in Chinese is also attached.

She-Tai-Cui, a precious jade, was mined only two years ago. It was officially named “She-Tai-Cui Jade” by the Chinese geological community and stone jewelry industry renowned experts. It is understood that She-Tai-Cui is among the rare species of Chinese jade. It is similar to Fei-Cui (nephrite) in hardness and density. She-Tai-Cui mainly comes in with bright emerald green, white, and blue three basic colors. The jade is produced in Mongolia Bayannaoer Wulateqianqi region. The jade mine has proven reverses of 41,900 cubic meters.

Retailer “HongSheng Jewelry Co, Ltd” has officially introduced She-Tai-Cui into the city of Xiamen. This is the first time She-Tai-Cui jade product appears in the Fujian Province.

Hong-Shen Shao, the general manager of HongSheng Jewelry Co said the precious stone was mined only two years ago, and it was officially named She-Tai-Cui Jade by industry renowned experts. Per Shao, because the reserve has just been discovered, the market for She-Tai-Cui is still in the early stage of development. The stone has not yet been priced very high. A medium sized jade ornament costs about 100,000 RMB or less. But there are already collectors starting to collect this brand of jade. A ZheJiang businessman had already ordered several art pieces. Brand She-Tai Cui begins entering the jade trading market with a high-end gift line. To make up the disadvantage of not yet being known in the market, most of the merchandises and art pieces are designed by well-known Chinese jade sculptors.

Wulateqianqi XiKai Mining Ltd. Is now the owner of the mineral resources. Shao Qi, the director of marketing, said in an interview, “As a new brand of jade, She-Tai-Cui has caught a lot of attention as soon as it hit the market. The mining company had mined out a huge jade coming in 41 tons. It was sold to a Taiwanese customer for 80 million RMB. This October, Sales of raw stone had reached 40 million RMB. Starting now, She-Tai-Cui, like other brands of jade, will be carved into a verity of jewelry and ornaments. They will be sold to individual as private collection or to high-end gift market.”

According to Shao, owner of the HongSheng Jewelry Co, the marketing for She-Tai-Cui started in the City of ShenZhen. Just a little more than six months, profit had already reached 5 million RMB and more. A few very high-end merchandises had entered the BeiJing and ShangHai markets. FuJian will be the company’s second marketing base, and it is expecting more higher-end merchandises.

Like other brands of jade, many think that She-Tai-Cui has the potential to become a valuable collector’s item. Qing-Sheng Wu, Chairman of the Jade Sculpting Association in Putian City said, “She-Tai-Cui has a very high quality. It has great potential in collection value. The more popular brand in the market right now, such as He-Tian and Fei-Cui (nephrite), all had been promoted and hyped in the market for a long period of time. She-Tai-Cui just barely entered the market. Although the initial market price is not as high as others, but once the market is cultivated, the appreciation in value will be worth-waiting.
