That is also a heck of a lot less than what pennyguru and Nate claim the machine costs.

If they paid $18,000 for the machine the cost to repair will almost total it. The router head can be complicated as that is the tracking of the router and must have the precision digital tracking devices in it. If you have to rebuild the head you will also have to recalibrate the devices which can be expensive. I worked as an Ops manager for a company that produced capital equipment involving precision air bearing tables offering high precision X-Y coordinate positioning. Can easily take hours to calibrate the devices.

I guess you get what you pay for. The units selling for $90K are 6 - 7 years old so what does a unit selling for $18K have for a history to it.

Imagine putting Million orders at the mercy of *very old* equipment. Kinda like running a taxi service with a 75 Chevy on 300,000 miles.

About time we clean up the misquotes here. There is plenty enough misleading information and lies coming out of Expo Holdings in their PRs.

For the record I never in any PR at any time under any circumstances on ANY board EVER once claimed that Expo Holdings, Inc. bought their CNC router or any of their other CNC machines for "18 or so thousand". There is NO SUCH POST. Any claims to the contrary are bald faced lies. I have often referred to the fact that CNC routers similar to the one at Expo Holdings are available online USED starting at around $18,000. And WHEN I posted that, it was almost ALWAYS accompanied by the URL first provided to the board by itrader which I archived for just such purposes. Once again, here is a selection of the CNC machines available USED online provided for the purpose of debunking the myth that the one currently in a state of disrepair at Expo Holdings is worth between $250K and $1M (dependent on who is making the false claim as to Expo Holdings "net worth" and the CNC machine's value toward that net worth therein).
