#12806 RE: tedpeele #12805

Although they claim their technology to be in "early production," they still mostly do R&D type work. The PBIS-1000 generator is their first commercial product to hit the market, but their target client(s) have been asking them to make modifications before they decide to buy in mass. The target completion date for the "final tweaks" is either here or fast approaching, so we're waiting to hear what comes of it.

Their target clientele appears to be mainly government, so things move at a fairly slow pace as you can imagine. They have an existing contract with the Navy for unmanned underwater vehicles, and we should be hearing soon if they won a contract with the Army for soldier-portable fuel systems. These are small R&D contracts that only have the potential to lead to commercialization if the military likes what they see, and we're talking a few years for these R&D phases to reach completion.

They're in the process of jumpstarting their marketing efforts in Europe, so that will take some time to amount to anything.

So looking at the big picture, the best bet that this company has for making meaningful sales anytime soon is if their final tweaks to the PBIS-1000 are really FINAL, and their clients start buying up a ton of these units, along with the fuel cans that go with it. With holidays coming up, I think realistically we won't hear about sales of these units until 2011 rolls in.
