Do you know how the dividend capture game is played? I thought that one had to own the stock for 30 days prior to the ex date (and hold for another 30 days?) to satisfy the requirement for special tax benefit. The reason I am asking is that PROG goes ex 4/4, and in the last few days the activity (and price) have increased and I wonder if it is a div play. I get taxed on my dividends in that one any how (it is in a sheltered account, once the money is taken it is taxed), so if this is just a dividend play, and since I have that one for years (from $7 and under $3, going on five years now, and people complain I do only day trading <g>), maybe I should not wait till my OA ($16.88) is finally reached?
