aria was holding back mrk over the last few years

Well I suspect that Aria was holding the program hostage until Merck restructured their deal (Aria had to agree on development plans), so to that extent maybe they were holding the program back by several months. But it's not as if Merck has really been holding back - there are a total of 26 listed studies.

I still find it impossible to handicap the SUCCEED trial, but even if it were to fail, there is every indication that Merck would still actively develop the drug for other indications.
