you have ur original 30000 of cbis and 30000 of xxx company. but you have to make sure not to sell them the day of record as fink stated earlier or you will not get the divy. you would also have to hold on to the NEW shares for say 6months before you could sell them or something like that. there are usally stipulations. If you could sell off day after the new company would probably disolve. advice from someone with real trading exp. im just a beginner myself.
