It's like Chipguy said. NEC's IPF solution, for example, is a large 32-way system that probably contributes >$1M to NEC's revenue every time they sell one with memory, storage, networking, etc*. It won't even take 100 of these to be very well off.

* (according to their TPC-C submissions, they have an 8-way system selling for $1.36M with a $/TpmC of 5.48 and a 32-way selling for $4.09M with a $/TpmC of 5.99, which is in the range of Xeon MP with 2-3x the performance)
