That is a very good question, why would he want a list of share holders? But I still personally, have doubts about the authenticity of said e-mail. The great thing about the internet is you can say anything you want anonymously, or even say that someone else said something. Unless you can log into Gregs e-mail the read it yourself there is no way in telling whether that communication is even real. It may or may not be, but it very well could be an attempt to manipulate the stock. Use your imagination. If a person feels they can impact the price of a stock a few points either way they could sell all their shares, short the stock, drive down the price, buy to cover, take their profits and buy back in with more money at a lower price... then try and push it back up.
Lets not also forget that it is perfectly possible for a person to create two or more anonymous accounts and pretend to be several different people. Not that it is the case nothing personal shank but for all everyone knows shank and greg could be the same person. As far as that goes I could be shank or greg, or both. The entire point is, this is an anonymous board where you must check your own facts and it is very easy to be misled. You would be amazed the schemes people come up with to make money, some very simple and some very complex.
I used to know a guy who refused to gamble, but he played poker on the internet for money. When I asked him why he played if he didn't gamble he told me it wasn't gambling. So I ask how, he figured it wasn't gambling? He explained to me he would remote into several computers in different locations all with different IPs and play all the seats at the table but one using different accounts. This drastically increased his odds because now he knew what cards all the players were holding except one person, also most of the losses were from himself to... himself so its really a wash. Not to mention he could use one account to run up the bet for his other accounts bluff. Might make you think twice before playing online poker again... eh?
