Interesting, mind doing me a favor ? (EDIT)
Go to Stockcharts, bring up any of your saved charts.
Under the Custom Settings: section select the last option in the pull down menu, Basic(no indicators)
Now try to annotate the chart that comes up?
Any luck?
Would be interested if you are able to do this as well Rachael.

I uninstalled java...

Then reloaded it. All is fine.
