1 - the benefit is that more people will trust the company, and may buy stock.
2 - it showed as a sell because you placed an order at the bid and someone sold the shares to you.

once the CE is removed more buyers will see as a more viable play. Sell I'd just give a guess @ MM wanting to keep that ask low to shake out loose hands, jmho
