agreed. no scam here but it's easy to see why some are skeptical. i believe it's just management in way over their heads. this is a tough business and I believe when you try to release a movie undercapitalized you will lose every time. the constant press announcements claiming a limited release opening and expanding into more theaters is getting old. They say the same thing every time and it just doesn't work that way. They haven't even done it when the limited release is a proven winner. War Eagle Arkansas is a perfect example. That little film did great in limited release. They announced the expansion but it never happened. An expansion takes a large amount of cash/money. You can't expand to 20 cities on lab credit lines and box-office receipts coming back in from the film. You've got to have a pile of money in hand and expect to spend every dime. this is like putting down a huge bet on one spin of the roulette wheel. That takes a little bit of craziness and a lot of balls. And the odds are not great.
The revenue numbers that HH predicted for 2010 were so inflated it is laughable.
"The release plans set forth by Parkinson for these titles indicated a collective gross revenue potential exceeding $25-million, approximately half of which was attributable alone to “HappyThankYouMorePlease,” a highly commercial “date- friendly” romantic comedy that has garnered enthusiastic reviews and significant revenue predictions from top film industry publications.
At the rate they're going they'll be very lucky to hit 2M this year. They need to shoot straight and tell their shareholders what is really achievable. That's why this feels like a scam or bait and switch.
How many people bought shares because of those bold predictions? I bet it was at least 6 people, right?
