Can't you go into tools and edit the task bar, or drag it to the trash?

Right click empty space in tool bar and go to customize...

Not exactly sure what the problem is, but maybe:

1) Delete your cookies.

2) Right click on the toolbar, click on "customize toolbar"

will do the trick. Good luck.

These marketing people are getting pretty nasty with pop ups and such.. I had one that changed my primary browser and virtually killed my network by redefining key things in my autoexec.. Of course since it was a porno site, I had to accept it as par for the course but : )
