That says the high numbers they were mining were only matched with 20% of there drill results . I also think that means they didnt know where to drill to get the best results.

it was noted that only about 20% of the drill
hole assays returned grades as high as those subsequently mined in the
stopes (Dean Rogers). The statistics were even worse for the stringer type
ore zones discovered later on in the course of mining.
