Have you considered that even long-term investors want to time their puchases to buy low? They may know of design wins and OEM commitments waiting on Window's release & figure this is a good time to jump in.
Yeah, I know, rules say they shouldn't use inside information in timing purchases. As a matter of practicality that is dispensed with by the blackout periods where officers are restricted from trading. How can one fully separate one's inside knowlege from stock buying decisions? We want our officers to show confidence in the road map & put their money where their mouth is, don't we?
Watching the buy and sell decisions of Sanders over the years probably has been the best predictor of AMD's stock direction, bar none!
