Mike,

You said: "all-optical chips will follow in some not very distant future".

A comment such as this is what elicits some dismissive replies from the technologists on this board. Semiconeng, chipguy, Saturn V, and others are VERY attuned to what it will take to make this happen, the variables, and anticipated time from lab to manufacturing (based on many years of real-world experience).

Their opinions are very realistic. Yours, I am sorry to say, aren't. It would indeed be great if you were right.
