Mach, I second this.
If you start a board anywhere else, count me in.
But Mach and Matt, in reading this it almost sounds like you both are on the same page. You know how some things that are written on the computer sometimes sound harsh when that was not the intent.
Matt from your post it sounds like you agree with Mach in enforcing his board policy by banning posters who have a motive or annoying. (words from your post)
Further, I trust you do not have a problem with deleting such posters from ANY free board since your site allows this feature. So Mach, as long as your discretion remains as prudent and Matt is agreeing that posters with bashing motives or annoying can be banned, then that seems to be a show of support to your board as long as personal attacks are removed.
So Matt, I agree your call to ask that personal attacks against JS be deleted was correct. Personally I have no opinion on the decision of this, or any ban. That call is left to the discretion of the originator and moderators of all boards.
But Sir, in under 1 year Mach has built a boards that is consistanly one of the the top 10 most read, most posted and top overall boards which draws a lot of people, and thus advertisers to your site. The patronizing harsh tone in your post in effect saying "how many times do I have to tell you..." was out of line.
Do you ensure EVERY personal attack is removed from ALL of your boards (pay and free)?...and ask them to do so in a disrespectful way? Mach is human, and thank God a damn good one, but he is human. Life for him or any of us, does not revolve around the board 24/7. So instead of saying, "Mach I agree with your decision based on the rules of your board, and in fairness could you please remove any personal attacks against JS as well?", your tone was quite different. If handled privately with Mach or done with respect on here, I wouldn't have a problem and wouldn't have posted on this issue. Your tone came quite the opposite and disrespectful.
I don't know your inner or outer connections which influence the decisions you make about IHUB. However if you have been at all conscious since this board's inception, you will know that Mach's discretion is very conservative, and of slow wise judgement to give all a chance to post.
If your tone was misinterpreted, I'm sorry. If it wasn't, I stand by the above and suggest a more professional tone be used in communicating with the originator of one the best boards in your entire site.
