It's only a measly 1.4 teraflops, but ... available now:)....

The computer uses 288 opterons and is very inexpensive ($ 23 M).


The number 7 supercomputer on the current list is built from 1100 Apple XserveG5 units. (12.25 TFlops).

Each unit has dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC 970FX processors, 4 GB ECC DDR400 (PC3200) RAM.

The Xserve units go for ~$3000 in single quantities. (About $3 million for the Apple boxes).

Note that the Cray unit would rank about 200 on the list.
