Perhaps some simply see a leveling off or slight rise as the perfect time to offload shares instead of selling them in a decline such as we've just been through.

Happens all the time with impatient traders wanting a quick run. When it doesn't happen as fast as they want, then they bail and move to the next. Hell, I'll even admit I have done that in the past with other stocks i wasn't so confident in.
