There is no range to avoid the borrow, within trading range they MAY CONSIDER not borrowing. MM strategies will be executed according to plan. Your only hope is to discern the plan and profit from it by reading the charts.
Of course, if your order is within trading range they may run the price up to grab it then take it down, only to sell your shares later on at a profit.
That is the advantage of the MM, they can see those stop losses and GTC sells.
