Thay should have called Xeon High-End and Itanium Enterprise if they want customers to start thinking of migrating to the latter. Calling it Risc is like labelling it a legacy replacement chip only. It's about a great decision as putting Flash prices up was ;-).
WBMW: Well said, both this and the previous post. Thanks for taking the time and effort to sort out the difficult positioning of these products. What is really interesting is that Intel is smart enough to not only change the positioning as needed over a period of many years in such a dynamic market, but to leverage different postions well as the market changes. This is not easily done.
