Red,

If what we are reading is correct and current...when SINOPEC uses the term commercial in this context it refers to the amount of hydrocarbons found and not the rate at which they flow.

What is needed is validation from another partner..preferably our own ERHC board. There should be no reason that any or all the partners could not report the information they have been given on drilling results (for the Bomu-1) at this time.

I have to feel that this just one more domino falling.....

Red - Well Completion. Once a well has been drilled and verified to be commercially viable, it must be completed to allow for the flow of oil or gas. ...

The porositys, permeabilities, etc can be determined by standard logging suits (wireline or LWD). The pressure of a particular zone, as well as characteristic fluid samples, can be obtained similarly by FMT/RCI/MDT tools (they can determine pressures, gradients, and actually obtain representative fluid/gas samples). This data, combined with an accurate seismic tie in, will help determine how large the reservoir is, and how long the pay will last until depletion. All of this will aid greatly in determining the commercial viability of the zone in question.
