Reverse splits are perceived as a negative...if I'm watching and I see news of a reverse split, I would sell shares and then buy them back at a lower price. Most investors hate reverse splits.
There are many different types of aggressive growth funds....many with different rules....hedge funds will do whatever they want to make money...again back to market caps and expected earnings in the future.
