I believe Prechter said that this move in the DOW to triple digits that he is predicting will be long and grueling. He says there will be many spikes in the downtrend caused by attempts to bolster the economy as well as the "herd" trying to call bottoms. He says that he is predicting 2015 or so to be the bottom. I believe he called the market crashes in the 80s and also predicted the intermediate bottom in the DOW around 6600. Google him and you'll come up with his interviews and what he talks about.
