You are absolutely correct.

The trade volume Friday was 11,407,201 and the short volume was 4,564,583. Doing the math (short / vol * 100) 48.57% of the trading activity Friday was short sales!!!

A short squeeze could happen at anytime and run this stock up fast as those shorts will need to cover.

The data is AVTI short sale data, plain and simple, no room for misinterpretation.

Firna makes this very clear on their website:

Pursuant to a Securities and Exchange Commission request, FINRA has agreed to make reported short sale trade data publicly available.
