"Sleep" sent me a back-channel question re BillyBoy's post. He (Sleep) asked me "What do you think of this?"...

Jim...My first guess is that somebody regrets having missed the .000x's, and is desperately trying to "snark" the price back down. That, or it's just another one of those poor delusional bastards that thinks they can exert their mystical, magical powers on the market with creative rumor-mongering. LVS had a legion of doom-and-gloomers back in the $2-3's, all the way through the $16-18's, but not quite so many at $30. 'Nuff said?...

I'd be a fool to say it's impossible for Copper King to go Ch.7, but the likelihood grows more remote with each day moving forward. The US Trustee, Ms. Cayton, has proven to be thoughtful, and fully engaged in this case, and Judge Thurman has an undisputed reputation for fairness and experience in these matters. Much to our favor, our new counsel Peggy Hunt has personal experience before Judge Thurman, and is well-aware of his disdain for "city-slicker" tactics.

It feels like it took an eternity for CPRKSA to obtain recognition, but that time has been well-spent. The steering committee has had the opportunity to confer with many of the numerous players involved, and I believe we have garnered a level of respect that will serve well as the game wears on. At the same time, we've been learning who twiddles their pinky-ring when they're contemplating an inside-straight. Again, 'nuff said...

I'll be the first to state that I've played some long-shots in the past that went south without so-much as a kiss, but I also "put my money where my mouth is". My latest order filled Tuesday for 1M/shrs @.0008. Of course, the perrennial "nay-sayers" will have no adequate response, as you cannot prove a negative. Perhaps, as a professional courtesy, one of us might be able to arrange a nice, long-term Valium drip?...

It could be Chapter 7 is in our future. However, the Judge has already authorized an emergency loan, there are reports that the lights are back on at the mill and hearings are forthcoming concerning the rest of the financing they need to get things going.

They've also hired a reputable consulting firm.

If CPRK can prove that PN was influencing lending (i.e. take it above the level of hearsay) then we have been told the truth all along and the events of last year make a lot of sense. So we will wait and see, but I think because the Judge has allowed lending to occur and the fact that the lending did occur tends to make Chapter 7 more and more a remote possibility.

I know who MS is (never met him) and the idea that he is in this to take advantage of people does not fit my understanding of his character. He takes risks, for sure, but isn't that what investing is all about?

This is my own opinion and is not to be construed as advice.

billy, odds are very low at best right now that we see a 7 in the near future. With the EHS being approved last week, it is fair to assume that the next round of emergency funding is a given and there is a good probablility of theDIP being approved if they can show any glimmer of hope with the emergency financing. Also keep in mind that while without a doubt MD did a very poor job, if there is any truth in the counter suit by CPRK against PN, it is PN that holds a big part of the blame on why we are where we are today. Prove what they did and we are all golden!
