DK, if your assumptions are correct...

and they seem reasonable to me, the labour component to assemble a SecureView would be in the range of $5.00...

I have seen all the bits and pieces, including the threaded tail piece that mounts on to the housing and whose contact points protrude at the bottom on the inside...

Next in goes the plastic bracket that clips onto 4 lugs inside the housing: it receives the Transfomer that plugs into the contact of the tail piece...

Above that is an intermediate electronics board and then, last, the CCD Camera Board, whose lens is spring loaded against the Lens cap... The Lens cap screws against an "O" ring into the housing, after a squirt of Nitrogen has been inserted...

Next, would come plug-in/test and packaging... I think 20 minutes is more than sufficient to perform these tasks if one is not sleeping on the task and 25 units per day, per person seems to be a practical estimate... If you need 1000 units/day, some 40 persons would be required...

It's not physically demanding and I guess even retirees could assemble them at home...
