Just wondering if I have this correct a 100mw project would be mw = 1mil watts x 100 = 100million watts x $1 per watt (solterra's projected pricing) = $100 million project?
TrevorBC, great find. That sure sounds like us! To put in perspective about a 100GW PV Plant -
This article from May, about an Amman, Jordan Project (not Solterra)- Plans for world's largest photovoltaic power plant unveiled - AMMAN - An international consortium on Wednesday unveiled plans for what is expected to be the largest photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the world in Maan.
A consortium comprising Amman-based Kawar Energy and Italian firm Solar Ventures yesterday detailed the specifics of the Shams Maan project, a 100 megawatt (MW) solar power plant which would produce nearly twice the electricity of the current largest PV plant in Olmedilla, Spain, a 60MW structure.
Note - what they call a "power plant" we might call a "solar panel farm" or "solar park". Scroll down to see the listings and photos of the power plants. Note the photos on the right of the page. ===============================================
Of course, Squires speaks about 1GW of annual production from a Solterra Solar Factory, so a first project like this would seem to be able to pay for it, plus only be a fraction of yearly production potential.
