Keith

With all due respect, stock information on the net is beside the point for the availability criterium. Whether _you_ can buy you one or not if and when you want is the crucial point in this respect. As simple as that. What you rightly cite in your post is just to make you pay close to 900 bucks for it and be proud and happy you got one.

Maybe an FX-57 will launch on 130nm (DSL) in mid Feb?

Actually, the most likely explanation is the following:

AMD PCI-Express boards finally hit the market in quantity over the past two weeks or so. There were a lot of enthusiasts waiting for those boards to build their next system. A bunch of them probably wanted an FX-55 to go with their new SLI board.

So the FX-55s have been snapped up, and it will take AMD a couple weeks to package up more of them.

Keith, on FX55

An alternative suggestion is that the FX57 may be introduced in a week and a half (Feb 15). AMD has always said that there would only be one FX-chip at a time. Perhaps they are just drying up the supply of 55's, for the introduction of 57's. It is quite possible that they underestimated the demand for 55's and are a little short before the 57's arrive.
