arizona1 -- yet again, we couldn't make this stuff up if we tried -- and yet again, their true colors just come shining on through

early one weekday evening back in the '90s, returning from a drive to Austin on business with a client (and friend), at his suggestion we stopped at that one main burger joint right in the center of Waco, known both for its burgers and as a favored hang-out for Baylor students -- coupla tables over were a bunch of Baylor students, in 'uniform' (their dress code) -- very loud and obviously very drunk -- I was paying them no attention, even when they started cheering, when my friend noted that one of the female students was giving one of the guys a blow job, right out in the open -- the staff of the joint never blinked -- apparently business as usual

Best of Rand Paul headlines....

Tue Aug 10, 2010 at 07:43:28 AM PDT

You know the story by now...

Rand Paul's campaign -- which has refused to deny an account of an alleged collegiate prank -- is attacking the GQ writer who quoted an anonymous former teammate's account. [ http://www.gq.com/blogs/the-q/2010/08/gq-exclusive-rand-pauls-crazy-college-days-hint-theres-a-secret-society-involved.html ]

Here's the account:

"He and Randy came to my house, they knocked on my door, and then they blindfolded me, tied me up, and put me in their car. They took me to their apartment and tried to force me to take bong hits. They'd been smoking pot." After the woman refused to smoke with them, Paul and his friend put her back in their car and drove to the countryside outside of Waco, where they stopped near a creek. "They told me their god was 'Aqua Buddha' and that I needed to bow down and worship him," the woman recalls. "They blindfolded me and made me bow down to 'Aqua Buddha' in the creek. I had to say, 'I worship you Aqua Buddha, I worship you.' At Baylor, there were people actively going around trying to save you and we had to go to chapel, so worshiping idols was a big no-no."

The media are having a field day with the headlines.... there are LINKS to each of these headlines.

By the way, via Dave Weigel: UPDATE: GQ Editor-in-Chief Jim Nelson responds:

We’ve vetted, researched, and exhaustively fact-checked Jason
Zengerle’s reporting on Rand Paul’s college days, we stand by the
story, and we gave the Paul campaign every opportunity to refute it.
We notice that they have not, in fact, refuted it.

File this under "you can't make this stuff up."
