Knowing our CEO I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see some debt paid off from some of the proceeds, either. But whether or not that is so, there is no denying that he deserves it. Very few CEO's would ever consider their stockholders the way he has. He has always, I repeat always put the company and its shareholders first and himself second.
Ed and Jill did not draw a salary for many years (it appears in the filings as being owed to them, but they did not take a penny as long as the Company was on hold). They survived on loans, Jill did some consulting, and who knows how else.
Someday this story will be written, and it will stand out as a tale of faith in the science, and the integrity of a few people who had the guts to invest their lives into a vision.
