#17149 RE: STEHSUCKER #17148

Great post, Stehsucker. I have, over time, arrived at similar views concerning what "slips" from mgt. and what actually "is" -- and I also believe, in spite of that disparity, that we are "in the hunt." We are looking this year at 14+ times the total number of CD's (10M) announced recently, and yesterday's announcement is "low-ball," I believe. In the "year of copy protection," other services should come to the fore, including kiosks, more aggressive online distribution, etc., and the PR suggests they are working on those things. Ipod and DVD's also receive mention. We don't need every protection contract out there to make some real money, if the year is shaping up to be a watershed for the industry as a whole -- a point the Macrovision VP asserts in yesterday's PR.

The gambler in me, I admit, is hoping things get settled on the Ipod front, as I believe that will legitimize us in a big way -- indeed, make us indispensible -- with the major labels. Since I have read that Apple is considering a jump into the kiosk biz big time -- don't have links, and it's too late now, but that's my recollection at least -- an Ipod deal could give us a jump-start in kiosk land as well.

I keep watching Immediatek for signs of a possible breakthtough in the kiosk biz too. That would be a great entree as well, since their products already contain SunnComm technology. So far, the main thrust of Immediatek's tech, though, has been with live concerts. They are, though, currently offering a kiosk product: http://www.immediatek.com/nbstation.cfm
Immediatek's technology features SunnComm tech: http://www.immediatek.com/pressdetail.cfm?pressid=5
While I'm not a fan of PDF files, this is an interesting page too:

Indeed, the entire immediatek site is an interesting "wander": www.immediatek.com

We're already in with Immediatek, but it is, admittedly, another small company hoping to make it big. The Immediatek site, though, I think demonstrates a lot of the possibilities currently being explored in this biz. Whether they make it or not, they have discussed in one website many of the various things I see written about this emerging technology in various other sources. I enjoy the site a great deal for that reason. Obviously, I hope Immediatek makes it too, as we are already along for the ride.

I'd best end this ramble. I have enjoyed reading your posts on this board and appreciate your clear, experienced take on the company -- its operation, relationship to investors, and potential. Through my own experience -- since last spring -- I find myself arriving at many of the conclusions you have, and I appreciate the opportunity to see them articulated with greater depth/experience than is available to me at present.

Thanks for your posts. Here's to a great day for all of us today.
