I would say if no acquisitions closed last week, then this statement released as the clincher last statement of the PR was highly misleading:

"A detailed press release of each of the acquisitions which closed this week will be issued early next week."

It seems to clearly imply that acquisitions in fact did close last week and that we will hear of these (early) this week.

I am no legal scholar, but this kind of statement seems highly suspect IMO if they in fact closed no acquisitions last week. If they didn't close last week is one thing. To release in a PR a statement that either implies or flat out asserts that they did when they didn't is another thing.
