i dont think that means what you think it means. i think those numbers include selling to short as well as buying to cover. so it just means short sales not sold short. imo - jeffn48754

They are the aggregate short volume for the day and the aggregate total volume for the day. Has nothing to do with buying to cover, although it would be nice if FINRA provided that data also.

I have provided for the board the daily aggregate numbers for Feb 1, 2010 through July 15, 2010. Currently working on updating thos numbers both forward and backward.
