Of course they do.
And PR is not as easy as it sounds. Much information has to be run by attorney's as to what can be officially said, or not said, timeliness of the releases etc. so as to not violate any SEC rules regarding forward looking statements etc. And a good portion of their time I'm sure has been dedicated to officiating the investor presentations as well as assistance in the presentations that it takes to sign all those agreements worldwide from here to Russia that it takes to lauch this puppy. They are also the ones who will need to entertain and officially answer all question posed by the media.
As I've said before, there's still a First Amendment and as an outside investor if I (or anyone for that matter) should choose to point out to the media that there's an interesting story brewing that they may want to look into, I'm allowed to do so. As well as any reporter with whom I disagreed with in the past and feel should be updated and revisit the situation, then I highly intend to drop them a friendly "look at us now" note. And along the way if a newer brighter reporter should choose to pickup on the story, well the one thing I've learned is that one reporter hates to be scooped by another.
As to the WSJ, I'm still certain that's going to happen at some point in time. The one thing you need to understand about them is that they are fully knowledgeable about the information power that they wield meaning they can accidently make or break a firm with a single article. So from an ethics standpoint they are extremely careful and timely not to release articles ahead of actual accomplishments. I'm certain all information that they have gathered is background/archive information that when the time comes, they'll intend to use to their advantage since it's already on file - just updated, like when it's officially time to launch.
